My Seminar course partnered with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) for the fourth year to support the emerging businesses of fellow University of Baltimore classmates.
The challenge was to work with the client to determine their problem(s), gather information, and design final creative solutions to solve the problem(s). My two teammates and I were assigned to Investment Neighbor.
About Investment Neighbor
Investment Neighbor is an investment advisory firm that analyzes economic data & transforms that data into high-return stock/ option trading strategies for everyday investors. For decades, retail investors have been underserved regarding quality information that translates into high-profit trades and portfolio growth. Investment Neighbor analyzes and communicates information most relevant to identifying and executing high-return trading opportunities.
Brand Creation
When creating the brand identity, we sought something offbeat for the finance industry. It is typical to see shades of blues and greens in many financial firms, but we wanted to do something different that would appeal to a younger audience. To proceed, we created different personas representing millennials and Gen-Z'ers. We felt that vibrant lilac and burnt orange fit Investment Neighbor.
Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, I created the branding materials for this project, including a business card, letterhead, email signature, and a mug.
UX + Web Design
A significant part of the project was designing a website to represent the brand and business objectives. This was an excellent opportunity to discuss all aspects of having a membership and show off how innovative web design can be for an industry as intimidating as finance. Figma was my tool of choice for creating the wireframes. All websites were required to be designed on the Wix platform. I requested and was solely responsible for creating the Investment Neighbor website, which you can view here. I LOVE web design and was ecstatic to complete this part of the project independently.
Our team created a YouTube advertisement as part of the brand collateral. The infomercial explains what Investment Neighbor is and how beneficial it would be for anyone to join. You can view It below.
